International Space Brokers Announces
New Management Structure - 20 August 2008
International Space Brokers (ISB), the world’s
leading specialist space insurance broker, today
announced a new management structure. ISB is
part of Benfield Corporate Risk, the corporate
insurance and risk intermediary.
The following appointments have been made with
immediate effect:
• Thierry Mangot has been appointed Chairman of
the Board of ISB, Inc. Mr. Mangot was
instrumental in the foundation of ISB in 1991
and has been the Chairman and CEO of ISB France
since that time. Mr Mangot commented, “I am
pleased and honoured by this appointment, and I
intend to pursue the development of ISB based on
the values which contributed to its success
since its foundation in 1991."
• Jeffrey Poliseno has been appointed Chief
Executive Officer of ISB, Inc. Mr. Poliseno
joined ISB’s Washington office as an Executive
Vice President in November 2004 and has also
served as Chief Operating Officer of ISB, Inc.
since January 2007. Mr Poliseno commented, “I am
thrilled to be given the opportunity to promote
ISB within the space insurance marketplace and
to ensure client satisfaction remains our number
one priority.”
• Clive Smith and Tim Wakeman, both Executive
Vice Presidents based in ISB’s London office,
have been appointed to the ISB Board of
Directors.
• Stephen Leonard will continue in his role as a
Director of ISB and Secretary to the Board and
John Cozzi will also remain as a Director.
John Lapsley, Chief Executive Officer of
Benfield Corporate Risk, commented, "This new

International Space Brokers Appoints Director of Risk Engineering - 23rd January 2008
International Space Brokers (ISB), the world’s leading specialist space insurance broker and subsidiary of Benfield, the world’s leading independent reinsurance and risk intermediary, today announced the appointment of Jared Ball as Director of Risk Engineering. Jared will be based in Washington DC reporting to Jeff Poliseno, Chief Operating Officer.
“I am delighted to welcome Jared to ISB,” said Roger Bathurst, Chief Executive Officer of International Space Brokers. “With his broad knowledge of spacecraft engineering, Jared will enhance the existing engineering expertise in our London and Paris offices, to the benefit of our customers worldwide.”
Mr Ball has more than 10 years of experience in the space industry. This experience was in a variety of satellite system engineering roles with Boeing Satellite Systems, Space Systems/Loral, Sirius Satellite Radio and most recently Intelsat in Long Beach, California.
“ISB’s reputation within the satellite industry is second to none, and I am delighted to be joining the ISB team and look forward to working with them in assisting our customers manage their space risks”, said Mr Ball.
Mr Ball holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from University of Southern California and a BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
International Space Brokers Names Jeffrey Poliseno COO in Washington - 9 January 2007
International Space Brokers (ISB), the world’s leading specialist space insurance broker and subsidiary of Benfield, the world’s leading independent reinsurance and risk intermediary, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Poliseno as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its Washington office. Mr Poliseno replaces John P. Cozzi who has resumed his role as full-time Executive Vice President and has been appointed Advisor to the ISB Board.
“We are delighted that Jeffrey has agreed to take on the position of Chief Operating Officer for our Washington office in addition to continuing his responsibilities with customers,” said Roger Bathurst, Chief Executive Officer of ISB. “After having served as our Chief Operating Officer in Washington for three years and successfully managing the transition of ISB into Benfield, John has resumed his role as a senior account executive. He will continue to share his wealth of industry knowledge and expertise with customers who continue to value our unique independent satellite broking offering.”
Mr Poliseno joined ISB in Washington as an Executive Vice President in November 2004 and has over 14 years experience in the space insurance industry. Before joining ISB, Mr Poliseno was a Senior Vice President of the Space Division at Aon, Inc. where he worked for six years. He began his insurance industry career at Marsh & McLennan.
Mr Poliseno holds a B.A in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is also a member of the US Government Department of Transportation’s COMSTAC Risk Management Advisory Working Group.
International Space Brokers Appoints New Executive Vice President to Develop its Operations in Spain – 21 July 2006
International Space Brokers (ISB), the world’s leading specialist space insurance broker, today announced the appointment of Benoit Condroyer to develop its operations in Spain. Benoit will be based in Madrid and will be part of the ISB France team. ISB is part of Benfield, the world’s leading independent reinsurance and risk intermediary.
Mr Condroyer rejoins ISB from Willis Iberia in Madrid where he spent nearly two years as Director of its Aerospace department. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Aon Space in Paris before moving to Aon Space Inc. in Washington where he was manager of all its space accounts in Spain and also supported its corporate space projects in the USA.
“I am delighted to welcome Benoit back to ISB,” said Roger Bathurst, Chief Executive Officer of International Space Brokers. “With his extensive knowledge of the space insurance industry, Benoit will further enhance our unique independent satellite broking offering and develop our customer base in the Spanish market.”
Mr Condroyer began his industry career in 1991 as a reinsurance broker focussing on property and casualty business with Le Blanc de Nicolay Iberica in Madrid. In 1993 he joined ISB in Paris as Assistant Vice President where he was responsible for managing its corporate accounts in Spain.
“ISB is well known for its creativity, competitiveness and responsiveness in developing products and services to help customers manage their space risks, and I look forward to working with the ISB team to further develop their market-leading space broking brand across the Spanish and wider European markets,” said Mr Condroyer.
Mr Condroyer holds a Masters degree in Business Management from ISG in Paris and is fluent in French, Spanish and English.

Vinter
International
Space Brokers (ISB) today announced that John
Vinter will step down from his position of Chairman
with effect from 1st January 2006. ISB would like
to thank John very much for his immense contribution
to the business. He has been central to ISBs
success since he became the President and CEO
of the company upon its founding in 1991 and we
are very pleased to confirm that his association
with the company will continue. John has agreed
to accept a consulting role with ISB, in which
capacity he will remain available to provide advice
and support for our clients.
His
place as chairman will be assumed by John Lapsley,
a US citizen, who is responsible for all direct
insurance activities at the Benfield Group. Roger
Bathurst, Chief Executive Officer and John Cozzi,
Chief Operating Officer comprise the balance of
the ISB board.
Benfield Increase Stake in International Space
Brokers
5 January 2004, London, UK. Benfield Group Ltd,
the world’s leading independent reinsurance intermediary,
has today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary
Crawley Warren (USA) Inc, has acquired a further
43% of the share capital of International Space
Brokers, Inc (ISB) a New York corporation from
Frank Crystal & Co, Ins. ISB is the world’s only
dedicated space insurance broker.
The acquisition means that Benfield Group now
holds 86% of the issued share capital of ISB.
David Spiller, CEO of Benfield’s International
Operations commented; “We are delighted to have
increased our holding in ISB, and to be have brought
the company within the Benfield Group. This move
gives us an excellent opportunity to grow our
existing position in the space insurance market
and to further enhance the range of services we
can deliver to customers.”
