Given insurance is the third largest cost in satellite launch programmes, any measures which reduce the risk that needs to be retained can make a significant difference to the bottom line. This means the build up to the insurance transaction is as important as the transaction itself.
Ideally working with customers from day one of projects, ISB takes a whole-programme approach, identifying and, as far as possible, quantifying the full spectrum of risk – business, technical and functional – inherent in a commercial space programme. This enables our customers to develop risk transfer and reduction strategies that include, but also go beyond, skilfully structured insurance programmes.
