John Howes

John Howes has been involved in the insurance industry since 1959, the last 35 years specializing in aerospace business, which in turn includes more than 25 years of space insurance. He was initially with J H Minet & Company Limited, and as chairman and managing director of their Aviation division, he then moved in 1981 to create the Aerospace Division of Crawley Warren (now Benfield Group) with predominantly the same team. In 1991 he was instrumental in setting up ISB Inc. and subsequently ISB UK Ltd. John Howes has been responsible for pioneering some of the major placements in the space insurance market and consulting on all aspects of space risk management programmes for the ISB Group.
